Geography was invented out of humankind’s curiosity to get to know the Earth, the planet on which we live. In order to satisfy this curiosity, humans travel and explore, and that is how new regions were discovered on our planet.
Geography is the science that describes, explains, and locates all of the phenomena that are produced on the surface of the Earth.
- Describe the Earth by indicating its topography, vegetation, weather, resources and inhabitants.
- Explain geographic facts, in other words, that can explain the root causes of them.
- Locate geographical facts (physical, astronomical, biological, economic and political) on Earth.
