15. The Church
1. Jesus found the Church
The Church is the great family of Christians, the ones who have received baptism. We believe in Jesus and follow him, and are united by the same sacraments. The Church has the heirs of the apostles as shepperds.
When we practise our faith in the Symbol, we say: 'I believe in one holy, catholic and apostolic Church' It is like a mother who take care of us with the sacraments, guiding us to Heaven.
Jesus Christ founded the Church to continue his divine plan of salvation. The Church, in her reedemer mission, is not a human creation, but a love act from God.
Jesus started to preaching the Kingdom of Heaven and chose twelve apostles. He entrusted Peter with supreme power over the Church. With his death in the cross, Jesus obtained salvation for all of us, and finally ended the fundation of the Church with the coming of the Holy Spirit.
