Write the missing word
The first words that we pray in the Creed are: "I believe in God, the Father Almighty" (Apostles Creed) or "I believe in one God, the Father Almighty" (Nicene creed). Our profession of Christian faith starts with God because he is the first and the last, the beginning and the end of everything. It begins with "God, the Father" because he is the first person of the Holy Trinity.
With his divine providence, God takes care of all things, but especially of man. He is our heavenly father and we are his children. To remember him constantly, he taught us to pray: "Our Father, who art in heaven" (Matthew 6,9). It is a wonderful Christian truth that must delight us.
Let's see who is God, the heavenly father.

1. I believe in one God
This is the great and absolute truth: God is one and unique. Yahweh revealed it to Israel: "Listen, Israel: the Lord our God is one Lord, you shall love the Lord, your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strenght" (Deuteronomy 6,4-5 ). The faith in one God makes us to believe in him as our first beginning and our last end; we have to choose him above everything. The revelation of Jesus Christ will complet the revelation of the Old Testament and by the teaching of Jesus, we know that the unique God exists in three divine entities: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
2. The Name of God
As Moses continued to watch, amazingly the bush kept on burning at Mount Horeb, God revealed his name: "I am who I am" (Exodus 3:14). Yahweh, that is, God is "of himself" without depending on anybody. He is the beginning, the essence, the origin, the cause and the source of everything. He is sovereign and supreme being, He is God.
At other times, God is revealed as rich in love and in faithfulness. With his kindness, goodness, and love, he seeks to attract the man. We can say that God is a spiritual, eternal and merciful being. He is virtuous, omnipotent, wise and fair; the being par excellence and the supreme love. Jesus Christ revealed the content of this name with a new sense: God, the Father.

3. God, the Father
The affirmation of the divine fatherhood is the first article of the Creed and the confession of faith starts in the Trinitarian mystery. The creed is the confession of the mystery of the Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. One God and one essence in three different entities. Following the confession of the triune God, it is also proclaimed the mystery of the Incarnation made by the Son of God to redeem men, and the mystery of sanctification, attributed to the Holy Spirit.
4. God, the Father Almighty
Of the many perfections that we can note in God, the creed reminds us the omnipotence, since it is about the creation which is work of the power and is attributed to the Father. But the Son and the Holy Spirit are also omnipotent, since the divine essence is unique and the three entities are equal in perfection.
It is necessary the confession of God's omnipotence because the man often deals with the proof of the faith by the sorrow and the evil, which we do not understand and it is hard to accept. But God is God, omnipotent and merciful, and he is close to help us with his Providence.
5. The Our Father
The revelation of the divine fatherhood in the mystery of the Trinity helps us to understand that God is our Father. The Lord said his disciples: "You should pray like this: Our Father" (Matthew 6.9). And this story goes around the New Testament. It is evident that the filiation of the Son of God and ours are different. Jesus is the son of God by nature and we are by adoption thanks to the supernatural grace that we received in baptism.
