I MAIN PRAYERS

   The Sign of the Cross

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
By the sign of the cross deliver us from our enemies, you who are our God. In the name of the Father...

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

The Hail Mary

Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed are thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
As is was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Hail Holy Queen

Hail, holy Queen, mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To you do we cry, poor, banished children of Eve. To you do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, your eyes of mercy towards us, and after this exile show onto us the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary. Pray for us, O holy That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

I Confess to You

I confess to almighty God, and to you, my brothers and sisters,
that I have sinned through my own fault, in my thoughts and in my words,
in what I have done, and in what I have failed to do;
and I ask blessed Mary, ever virgin, all the angels and saints, and you, my brothers and sisters,
to pray for me to the Lord our God.

Act of contrition

O my God, I am heartly sorry for having offended you, and I detest all my sins, because I dread the loss of heaven and the pains of hell; but most of all because they offend you, my God, who are all good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of your grace, to confess my sins, to do penance, and to amend my life. Amen.

II. THE CHRISTIAN DEVOTIONS

MORNING PRAYER

O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer You my prayers, works, joys and sufferings of this day for all the intentions of Your Sacred Heart, in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, in reparation for my sins, for the intentions of all my relatives and friends, and in particular for the intentions of the Holy Father. Amen.

Oh my lady

O my Lady, O my Mother, I offer myself entirely to you, and in proof of my filial affection I offer to you this day my eyes, my ears, my tongue, my heart, in a word, my whole self. Now that I am entirely yours Mother of goodness, keep me and defend me as your own property and possession. Amen

Blessed be your purity

Blessed be your purity, May it be blessed for ever, For no less than God takes delight In such exalted beauty. To you, heavenly Princess, Holy Virgin Mary, I offer on this day My whole heart, life, and soul. Look upon me with compassion; Do not leave me, my mother.

Memorare

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that any one who fled to thy protection, implored thy help or sought thy intercession, was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly unto thee, O virgin of virgins my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful; O mother of the word incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy clemency hear and answer me. Amen.

The angelus

V. The angel of the Lord declared unto Mary. R. And she conceived of the Holy Spirit.
Hail Mary full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, And blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

V. Behold the handmaid of the Lord R. Be it done unto me according to thy word. Hail Mary...

V. And the word was made flesh. R. And dwelt among us. Hail Mary...

V. Pray for us, O Holy mother of God, R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray, Pour forth, we beseech thee, O Lord, thy grace into our hearts that, we to whom the incarnation of Christ, thy son, was made known by the message of an angel, may by his passion and cross, be brought to the glory of his resurrection. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

To Saint Joseph

Grant, we pray, almighty God, that by Saint Joseph’s intercession, beloved husband of your Blessed Mother, Assist us in our present difficulty with thy prayers before God. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

To our guardian angel

Angel of God, my guardian dear, To whom God's love commits me here, Ever this day, be at my side, To light and guard, rule and guide. Amen.

Blessing Before a Meal

V. Bless us, O Lord, and these your gifts, which we are about to receive from your bounty, through Christ our Lord. R. Amen. V. May the King of everlasting glory make us partakers of the heavenly table. R. Amen.

Thanksgiving after a meal

We give you thanks, Almighty God, for all your benefits which we have received from your bounty, through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer for betime

O my God, at the end of this day I thank You most heartily for all the graces I have received from You. I am sorry that I have not made a better use of them. I am sorry for all the sins I have committed against You. Forgive me, O my God, and graciously protect me this night. Blessed Virgin Mary, my dear heavenly mother, take me under your protection. St. Joseph, my dear Guardian Angel, and all you saints of God, pray for me. Sweet Jesus, have pity on all poor sinners, and save them from hell.

Acts of faith, hope and charity

An Act of Faith O My God, I firmly believe That Thou art one God in three Divine Persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; I believe that Thy Divine Son became man, And died for our sins, And that He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe these and all the truths Which the Holy Catholic Church teaches, Because Thou has revealed them.

An Act of Hope O My God, relying on Thy almighty power And infinite mercy and promises, I hope to obtain pardon of my sins, The help of Thy grace, and life everlasting, Through the merits of Jesus Christ, My Lord and Redeemer.

An Act of Charity O My God, I love Thee above all things, With my whole heart and soul, Because Thou art all-good and worthy of all love. I love my neighbor as myself for the love of Thee. I forgive all who have injured me, And ask pardon of all whom I have injured. Amen
