20. Fourth and fifth commandment



  1. The fourth commandment

    The fourth commandment is: Honour your father and your mother.

   Our parents love us a lot, and we must give back their love with love, respect and obedience.

   We love our parents when we give to them satisfaction and happiness. It would be disrespectful to despise them, insult them or offend them in some way, or to be ashamed because of them. We must obbey them with promptness and love. To experience these we must take Jesus - and how He loved and obbeyed his mother Mary and his father Joseph - as our model.

   We must also respect those who are higher in age, dignity and judgement, as our grandparents, teachers and other elder people are.

   On the other hand, parents must love, sustain and educate their sons in a Christian way. A couple must love, help and be faithful to each other.her.

  2. The fifth commandment

    The fifth commanment is: To not kill. Our life is a precious gift given by God, and we received it by our parents. We are not owners of our life, but administrators. We must respect and take care of it from the beginning to the end.

   Man has the duty of preserve his corporal life, taking care of it with the appropriate food, cleanliness and physical exercise. Contrary to this it is the suicide (to take your own life), the mutiliation of a body member, the euthanasia (to take your life in order to avoid pain), the greed and drunkinness and taking drugs.

   Our duties with the others are the respect to other's life, being forbidden the homicide (to kill somebody) or the abortion (to kill a baby when is inside his mother's womb).

   This commandment orders to love everybody and forgive our enemies. It also forbids hate, envy, brawls, fights and wishing evil on others.

   A scandal is a word, act or omission which incite the others to sin.
