28. The Eucharist, mystery of faith and love |
With the Sacrament of the Eucharist is completed the Christian initiation; actually it culminates the supernatural entire life – particular and community or the church as such-, because it is the “Sacrament of the Sacraments”, the most important of all, since it contains God’s Grace – like the others Sacraments- and the author of the grace, Jesus Christ our Lord. We know, not by senses but by the faith, which relies on the in the testimony of God: “This is my body, which is given for you; do this in memory of mine” (Luke 22, 19). These are the words of Jesus to Apostles at the Last Supper to leave the Eucharist the Eucharist as a gift of his power and infinite love. We firmly believe it, as the Apostles who were present t that moment.
The II Vatican Council calls upon the mercy and meditation more and more pure (clean) with the Eucharist, when he teaches, it is “the source and summit of all Christian Life” and “participating in the Eucharistic sacrifice” the faithful “offer to God the divine victim and offer themselves along with it. (Lumen Gentium, 11).
