24. What do Christians celebrate when they met? |
Introduction
The Creed has reminded us the mystery of the Trinity (God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit) and the mystery of salvation in Christ who founded the Church to continue on earth his plan of salvation of men until the end of the world. What do Christians proclaim and celebrate when they met? What does the Church proclaim and celebrate? The answer: the mystery of Christ.
The following scene (from the Catechism of the Catholic Church) represents the encounter between Christ and the woman with Issue of Blood who could not be cured for years. She Came behind him, touched the border of his garment and her problem stanched immediately (Mark 5,30).
Christ lives and acts in the Church through the sacraments, applying the merits of Redemption and continuing the saving work of Jesus in the world. The sacraments are channels that collect the "virtue of Christ” to heal the wounds of sin and to communicate new life. So those who want to live the life of God should participate in the liturgy of the Church, which celebrates the mysteries of our salvation in union with Christ and under the action of the Holy Spirit, to offer to God worship, praise and thanksgiving.
