1. Easter is the most important holiday of the year.

    The easter commemorates the victory of the Risen Christ. The Church celebrates it with Solemnity because it is the culmination of our Redemption and confirms our faith.

    Indeed, Jesus Christ, with his death- freed us from sin and reconciled us to God, and by His resurrection opened the doors of heaven. The resurrection of Christ is the foundation of the Christian religion, because it is the main argument of his divinity and of the truth of our faith.

2. The resurrection of Christ is a historical fact

    The resurrection of Christ occurs when his soul rejoinded to the same body, coming back to live. Although the incident was not seen by men, this miracle is a historical fact that many witnesses were able to see because jesus christ appeared alive on the third day.

    In turn, the resurrection of Christ transcends history because this miracle -not witnessed by men- is the object of our faith, witnessed by the angels, Christ and Scripture, being the confirmation of the divinity of Jesus and the truth of his doctrine. Also his saving power embraces all men in history.

3. Jesus Christ ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God

    This statement of our faith means that Jesus Christ living and glorious ascended to heaven, where shares the power and glory with the Father and the Holy Spirit.

4. Easter is the triumph of Christ

    During Holy Week, we contemplate great mysteries of love and pain: maundy Thursday is focused on the new commandment of love, in the institution of the Eucharist and the priesthood; Good Friday is the celebration of the passion and death; Holy Saturday is a day of excitement, full of devotion and hope.

    In this impatient wait, the Church celebrates the resurrection from the night of Saturday to Sunday: Easter Vigil. It is the "most holy night," in which the Paschal candle starts, symbolizing the light of Christ; biblical stories recall the great acts of God, from the creation to the redemption; baptismal promises are renewed. The hallelujah, repeated three times, the sound of bells and the organ chords, the lights, the flowers, everything shows the new life of the risen Christ.

5. Jesus Christ lives and is the foundation of the Christian life

    The paschal candle reminds the light of the world is Christ who died but resurrected again, and lives and stay with us in the Church and in the Holy Eucharist. Just like Christ began with His resurrection a new, immortal and glorious life, we must resurrect forever to the sin, loving God and all the things leads us to Him.

    The fundamental difference that distinguishes Jesus Christ from the founders of other religions is that nobody proclaimed as God, Savior of the world and center of all hearts as he did, appealing to his miracles, especially the resurrection, like warranty of his words and doctrine.

6. Each Sunday we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ

    Jesus Christ died on the cross on Good Friday and resurrected on Easter. That is why we call it Sunday or day of the Lord: because Jesus resurrected. But the miracle of the resurrection is so great that we celebrate not only that day, but every Sunday of the year. Every Sunday we go to Mass to celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
