The resources around us are of two kinds: natural and artificial.
- Natural resources: any resource derived from the environment, undisturbed by the human being. Examples: animals, plants and rocks.
- Artificial resources: any resource made by people. Examples: houses, roads and cars.

5. Kingdoms of Nature
Nature is the set of natural beings that inhabit the Earth.
Nature is divided into three kingdoms: animal, vegetable and mineral.
- The animal kingdom: organic compounds that live, walk and feel. Examples: horse, man and dog.
- The vegetal kingdom: organic compounds, but they do not walk or feel. Examples: pine, rose bush and wheat.
- The mineral kingdom: inorganic compounds, with no life. Examples: stone, iron and water.

7. States of matter
They are three: solid, liquid and gas.
