5. The existence of living beings


 

  1. Chicken-and-egg

    It is told that two girls were reading the Bible and a boy approached and said to them in a mocking tone:

    - Are you still reading such things? Don’t you know that there is no God? One of the girls replied:

    - Which of these two things has existed before, the chicken or the egg?

    - The egg! Again the girl asked him:

    - And where this first egg came from?

    - I was wrong: the chicken was the first

    - So, where this first chicken comes from? The boy said without a clear answer:

    - The first chicken?... The first chicken?...

    - Yes; the first chicken. Where it comes from?

    - Enough with “the first chicken”! Do you know what? I am fed up with so much chicken!

    - Say better, wise guy, that you do not know how to replay and admit that it is impossible to explain the existence of the first egg or the first chicken without God.

  2. Physics and Natural Sciences

Physics and Natural Sciences explain us that there was no living being on Earth in the beginning. We can wonder:    

- Where the lives of vegetables, animals and men come from?    

What reason tells us is that it has not been possible for the matter to produce the vegetative life of plants, nor the sensitive life of animals and much less the mental life of men.

Why? Because nobody can give what he still does not have; and as matter lacks of life, it cannot give it.

  3. The origin of life

   There are two key assumptions to explain the origin of life of plants, animals and men:

  a) Life has emerged spontaneously, by spontaneous generation. After Pasteur researches, many current scientists do not dare to defend this argument for a spontaneous generation. True science affirms that a living being originates in a vital germen, being a seed, egg or renewal, coming from another living being of the same species.


    b) Life is produced by a cause different from the world, fertilizing the matter and engendering the life. Even though the theory of evolution be admitted and go back from generation to generation, there will always be a need for a first creator, who is God, first cause of everything. This is the old chicken-and-egg reasoning.


  C. There are six true sentences and two false sentence. He says the true numbers

 • There are two key assumptions to explain the origin of life

 • Life comes from spontaneous generation

 • Pasteur made conclusive experiments

 • The living being comes from a vital germen, seed or egg
