It is the living together of rational and free human beings cooperating in a steady way common good-oriented. Man is naturally sociable. There are three types of society: the domestic one, established by family; civil society, that gathers families founding the State; and religious society, a community of believers.

Man has always been living in society. Aristotle said that man is a political animal, i. e., is living in a “polis” or a city founding the society.

J.J. Rousseau denied that society is natural and healthy for man. He defended the man to be originally good, but he was corrupted living in society. These theories, not proven by experience, are widely rejected.

Although human society is not perfect, that is due to some men not looking for common good, but their particular one and so become corrupts. It is the individual who gives society their own wickedness.

Generally speaking, society is a group of men looking for common good.

La Nation is a group of men and the bond that joins them is an equal race of language .

State is a gathering of men living in a territory and the uniting bond is Law and common laws.

Homeland is a group of men having the same tradition, history, ideals and spirit.

State power has three branches: legislative, judicial and executive. Legislative power belongs to Government, parliament and the courts. Judicial power belongs to judges who apply laws in lawsuits and disputes among men. Executive power enforces laws through public force.

3. Man’s duties to God

Man lives in domestic society, in the civil one and as a believer in religious society or Church.

Because of their spirituality, men have a supernatural purpose and demand a society managing and caring for the achievement of that ultimate purpose, that is, to reach the heaven.

Justice consists of giving each person what is their own. And so we have to give God what is his own and belongs to him: the religious duties come from this. These duties are three: worship, faith and love.

a) Worship. Man has to worship God due to the fact that his existence depends completely on Him.

b) Faith. He needs faith, because God is the absolute Truth.

c) Love. He must love God, given that God is the Supreme Good.

These duties show in religious worship, not only in a private way but also publicly.
