Freedom and law

Some authors think that freedom is the opposite of laws. If man obey norms, he would be a slave, because he could do nothing of what he wanted to.

But, if law is fair, looking for he good of community, it cannot be an obstacle to live freely, but something that helps will to discover human and christian values, in order to be able to decide freely to reach personal perfection and available happiness.

In case the law has been writen by a tyrann or a dictator, who searchs for his own personal profit and not for the common good of society, then the conflict between living freely and obeying the unfair law could be a problem.

But if the law is fair, as a fruit of the rihgt reason, and its aim is to protect the true values of citicens, then the law is not contrary to freedom, nor it denies it, but it upraises it.

When it comes to divine law, freedom acquires the biggest dignity when it is accomplished. Only that freedom that obeys the Truth leads the person to their true good.

In this case, the good of person consists of staying in Truth and doing the Truth.
