The sociability |
The behaviour of many joung men is influenced by that of their peers and group of friends. And that is so because man lives together with other men.
Aristotle defined man as a social being and a rational animal. It is rational because their intelligence overcomes qualitatively to animal instinct and it is a social or political being because their living-with makes the significative difference with animals that usually live in flocks or herds.
Man’s sociability has its origin in human soul, due to the fact that one of the spiritual qualities is self-communication.
When it comes to moral behaviour of man, their social condition has to be taken into account. Morals is not a characteristic of the individual, but of the person; and person is by nature a social being. Different relations of social life, economic life and political life, including the institutions running them, have to be ethically considered.
There has to be considered too the real influences that social life has upon the person; and about them we can speak of social sins and structures of sin.
The social sense of man encourages him to live fully his human vocation and urges him to be involved in favour of social good.
